The Moulin de la Rémy transports one to a cherished past.
The mill dates from 1827 and was entirely restored by Héritage Charlevoix, whose goal was to recreate an essential aspect of traditional French-Canadian life. Its 4-foot wide and 24-foot diameter mill-wheel is the largest in Québec. At the entrance of the mill is an exact replica of the original bolting (sifting) machine (a long cabinet fitted with bins to receive the different grades of flour) as well as three pairs of millstones brought in from France.
The site, complete with various outbuildings and paths along the river, is open to the public. It is an ideal place to relive the past and spend time with the family.
